When you're an owner/driver, you jump at whatever opportunities for publicity you can find. And if said opportunity happens to be on CNN, hey, so much the better.
Jennifer Jo Cobb is scheduled to appear on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" on Tuesday as part of Dr. Sanjay Gupta's series on "extreme living." The life of a NASCAR driver, full of constant tension and nervousness, would certainly qualify as "extreme."
"It was exciting to talk with Dr. Sanjay Gupta about extreme living," Cobb said. "This was a great opportunity to discuss the lifestyle associated with a NASCAR driver. Most race fans only see what takes place at the race track. They don't get to see what we're like when we aren't at a speedway."
Cobb finished 17th in the Camping World Truck Series in 2010, which makes her the highest-finishing female ever in any of NASCAR's top-three series. And yes, that includes you-know-who.
Check in and see how the show goes, and report back with your findings here. Congrats to Cobb for finding a new outlet for publicity. Hopefully her segment goes better than Brian Vickers', when he terrified a CNN host cruising through Atlanta's streets.
