Feud of the Week (Year?): Slammin' Sammy vs. the Wall

You knew this was coming...

That Darlington Stripe wasn't the first time Slammin' Sam Hornish Jr. has hit the wall this year, nor will it be the last. Did he lose all future rights to the golden horseshoe when his nudge from David Reutimann helped take out Jimmie Johnson at Texas?

And if Hornish is still on Johnson's bad side, he didn't make any friends with Jeff Gordon at Richmond when his caution with approximately 30 laps left essentially cost Gordon the win.

Maybe Hornish will pull another near miracle with a good run in the Sprint Showdown before the All-Star Race, but if he wasn't driving for an owner as loyal as Roger Penske, Hornish may not be in a car this season.

However, as we've discussed before, his options are pretty scarce, so it's now or never for Hornish. (Have you ever seen Paul Tracy's nickname for him?)

For him, hopefully now starts at Dover.
