It looks like Danica Patrick is primed to be beaten by another woman.
No, I don't mean that she's going to get beaten by Milka Duno at the upcoming St. Petersburg race, but rather by a certain female sportscaster who is the object of many a man's affection (and one with way too much of a crush) in Esquire's Sexiest Woman Tournament.
Yes, that's correct. She's matched up against Erin Andrews. Commence internet self destruction in 3... 2... 1...
So if you're reading this line, the internet has thankfully survived.
Of course, a 9 seed beating an 8 seed is hardly an upset, but Esquire didn't do Danica any favors with the picture that they chose of her. They obviously couldn't have used one of her Sports Illustrated swimsuit photos without paying, but why not this, or this? (However, it wasn't like Danica was singled out. There's a fair amount of unflattering pictures throughout the whole bracket.)
This is once again a victory for the Danica Patrick marketing machine, because I've got some pretty good odds that very few, if any of the people at Esquire who came up with the bracket could name another female race car driver, let alone one hotter than Lane Kiffin.
As for me, I'm taking two eight seeds (no, one of them isn't Andrews) and a 14 seed to the Final Four, which probably says more about the seeding process that Esquire used than my tastes. I'm still undecided about the movie region and may take the winner of the 3 vs. 7 Sweet 16 matchup. The 1 seed in that bracket only got that spot because of hype and in my opinion, is primed to underachieve.
