When dirt track racing imitates Sprint Cup racing

Kasey Kahne started second in the first qualifying heat to the main feature of Wednesday night's Prelude to the Dream and quickly passed polesitter Bill Elliott on the first turn.

Kahne was dominant during the 10 lap feature in his no. 9 Budweiser car and looked like a serious contender for the 30 lap feature win later in the evening.

But the team found an engine problem after the qualifying heat, and in order to race in the feature, Kahne needed to go to a backup car. And since the team didn't prepare a no. 9 Budweiser backup, he needed to find another car. He got it from Eric Jacobson, who is running in Saturday's Dream race.

That car's number? 5.

And no, it's not 2012 already.
