Hey, it's the comedown period after a race, so why not have a little fun with publicity? What you see at right turned up in my email Monday. (No, not the car. That would be silly.)
So here's the deal. Clint Bowyer is rocking the Halloween-esque Wheaties Fuel car at Indianapolis this summer, setting us up for an entire weekend of "eating his Wheaties" jokes when Bowyer does anything more strenuous than breathe.
“Indianapolis is one of the most historic venues in all of motorsports, where only the best of the best have earned victories,” said RCR driver Clint Bowyer. “Everyone in the garage wants to win this race. The No. 33 team, fueled by Wheaties Fuel, is prepared to give it their all so we can be the ones kissing the bricks after the checkered flag waves.” (Show of hands: Who really believes Clint said that? You do? Come closer, little one, and let me tell you all about the grand theater that is the press release ... )
Anyway, this marks the first time Wheaties Fuel is a primary sponsor in the Sprint Cup, and there'll be a fancy new Wheaties box unveiled later this week featuring a racing legend (oh please let it be Buckshot Jones!), and Wheaties Fuel was developed by Peyton Manning and Kevin Garnett and ... hey, we love Wheaties and all, but you know what? That's probably enough. See you at Indy,
Halloween Wheaties Fuel car.
