The talking was finished so the only hurdles left for Urijah Faber and Mike Brown were the weigh-in and fight itself. They weighed in at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium without much fanfare today at 4 p.m. PT.
Brown, the WEC feathweight champion and Faber, the guy he took the title from, both weighed in under the featherweight limit at 143 1/2 pounds. Brown got his first taste of what Arco Arena should be like tomorrow night as the mostly Sacramento-filled crowd booed Brown loudly. For some reason, WEC announcer Todd Harris kept asking for the Sactown fans to give Brown his due. They didn't care.
The only hiccup of the evening came when Frank Gomez missed the bantamweight limit for his fight against TUF 6 alum Noah Thomas. He came in at 137 1/2. He came back after roughly an hour and made the limit. Thomas is a late replacement for Eddie Wineland. He gained some infamy for getting kicked off TUF 5 after a backyard fight with Marlon Sims where he spiked Sims' head on the pavement.
