UFC 95 a mixed bag for bettors

The UFC's latest event proved to be a tough nut to crack. If you were willing to lay big odds on favorite you made out like a bandit unless you fired on the biggest chalk, Josh Koscheck. Kos was smashed as a -550 favorite by UFC newcomer Paulo Thiago who fetched +375.

Bettors pounded winners Demian Maia (-250), Diego Sanchez (-320) and Nate Marquardt (-320). Some solid dogs came in with Mike Ciesnolevicz (+110), who not only submitted Neil Grove, but shredded his knee with a heel hook 63 seconds into the fight while giving away 28 pounds to the 6-foot-6, 263-pound Brit. Evan Dunham, a prospect out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas shocked the very seasoned Per Eklund to haul in +120.

Cage Writer went 1-1 with our premium picks. We nailed Dan Hardy with his quick knockout of Rory Markham but fell shooting at a big dog number with Stefan Struve (+210). Struve was knocked out by Junior Dos Santos.
