Don't write off Sean Sherk yet. Sure he was outclassed on the feet against B.J. Penn his last time out but that didn't mean that he went home after the fight and cried in his beer. The Muscle Shark, a great wrestler who's looked mediocre on the feet in certain fights, used the Penn loss to correct his shortcomings. Tyson Griffin wanted to keep this one standing which was great for Sherk who got to show off a whole new dimension. He edged out Griffin at UFC 90 for a unanimous decision victory.
"I went and started working a lot of footwork and range stuff. A lot of timing and speed bag and really got my footwork down. I felt like in the Penn fight my punches were a half an inch short."

Sherk said he wants to face the winner of the UFC 91 Kenny Florian - Joe Stevenson fight. The 35-year old Sherk must be reckoned with. He still looks as fast as ever. He put together a ton of three-punch combos and good leg kicks. Plus he still had plenty left in the tank when the fight ended. Keep in mind, the guy has lost just three times (Matt Hughes, Georges St. Pierre and B.J. Penn.) during his career.
