'King Mo' doesn't look like the winnerSteve CofieldApril 18, 2010 Did judges and fans have it wrong with the decision to give Muhammed Lawal the unanimous decision victory over Gegard Mousasi tonight at Strikeforce: Nashville? "King Mo" looks beat to hell. He claims that none of the shots hurt, and Mousasi just kept hitting the same spot. "He ain't ever going to hurt me," said Lawal. "Even with the kicks. The body shot? That didn't do nothing. I take body shots from our coaches. That stuff right there is nothing." Lawal pointed to his success with top control as a key in the fight. He worked from Mousasi's guard for at least 15 of 25 minutes and was never in jeopardy of getting caught by a submission. He credited training with guys like Rashad Evans, Dean Lister, Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera and Fabricio Werdum. The fight also proves why striking stats don't tell the entire story. According to Compustrike, Mousasi outlanded Lawal by over 150 strikes.
