Matt Serra can be a little irritating at times but is there more to the story with Matt Hughes' hatred of the Long Islander? Hughes can't stand the guy. His wife wants Serra to get his ass kicked. And you can add Hughes' trainer Marc Fiore (pictured on the left) to the list. Fiore was part of the Hughes team that faced off against Serra on The Ultimate Fighter 6 and he dislikes the little guy more now than ever:
"Yeah, I can’t stand Matt Serra," Fiore told ProMMA.info. "I can’t wait for May 23rd for Matt Hughes to freakin’ just shut him up and make him freakin’ go back to 155 where he belongs. He’s just a freakin’ short fat 170-pounder.
As far as predictions, Fiore says Serra will be grounded and pounded into submission:
"I see that fight going, I don’t know, first, second, or third round, doesn’t matter, I just see Matt Hughes getting his hand raised by ground and pound, or by the referee just pulling Matt [Hughes] off of him."
Fiore says none of the hatred is contrived. He also adds that this fight may award bragging rights to the winner but it won't bury the hatchet. That won't ever happen. Even Hughes' wife Audra told her husband that she's hoping Serra is a bloody mess at the end of the fight on May 23.
Fiore is part of Hughes' new gym, H.I.T. (Hughes Intensive Training) outside St. Louis. He also drops a little smack towards Frank Trigg saying "Twinkletoes" better avoid a rematch with Robbie Lawler.
