The two final bouts of the night were two Chicago fan-favorites, Felice Herrig and WEC veteran Jeff Curran. Herrig won her decision while Curran lost.
Bryan Goldsby beat Curran in a 29-28 unanimous decision. At a catchweight of 140 lbs, American Top Team fighter Goldsby had the edge early as he threw hard throughout the first round, cutting Curran over his ear. This continued in the second round, as Goldsby pounded Curran both on the ground and in standup.
Curran seemed unbothered by this, as he showboated, even bending over and slapping his buttocks at Goldsby. Curran didn't try for many takedowns to get to use his strong jiu-jitsu. It's not all bad news in the Curran family, though, as his cousin Patrick won in a Bellator tournament bout earlier in the evening.
Felice Herrig shone in front a hometown crowd, winning in a split decision 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 over Jessica Rakoczy. The battle between the two women was both on the feet and on the ground. As former UFC heavyweight Josh Barnett yelled from her corner, Herrig and Rakoczy fought a close bout, with Herrig getting a slight edge in striking. Herrig was also able to get a takedown, and a triangle choke attempt, which might have given her an edge.
