It was a big underdog night with Clay Guida (Even), Eric Schafer (+190), Dan Miller (+150) and Mike Massenzio (+280) all pulling off upset wins. It was a rare 4-5-1 night for the dogs. With money on every dog, the ballsy/overzealous bettor would have cashed +220.
The four televised fights played out pretty close to our Tuesday write-up. Nick Diaz had a tougher time than expected with Josh Neer but cashed at -190. Guida's wrestling sapped Danzig's confidence and gas. Schafer got Houston Alexander to the ground. From there, Alexander, a powerful stand-up fighter, was helpless and got submitted with an arm-triangle choke.
Alan Belcher got by Ed Herman via split decision but it wasn't easy. Each round was identical with Belcher dominating on the feet in the first half then letting down his guard and getting taken down. It's all mental with Belcher. Throughout the fight he refused to listen to his corner headed by fellow UFC fighter Rich Clementi. We also said there was some value on Massenzio (pictured) and the former New Jersey JUCO wrestler pulled off the upset over Drew McFedries.
