Your first look at MLB's new MTV show 'Off the Bat' (Video)

Major League Baseball is getting the MTV treatment this season, as "Off the Bat," a new behind-the-scenes series debuts on MTV2. It's an extension of the MLB Fan Cave, merging baseball and pop culture with the hope of making baseball appeal to the people who watch MTV.

Last month, we learned more about the show, particular that rapper Fat Joe, MTV personality/radio host Sway, model/actress Melanie Iglesias and comedian Chris Distefano had been selected to host "Off the Bat." Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz had previously signed on as executive producer.

Now we get our first look at "Off the Bat" and learn its premiere date. — April 1 at 11 p.m. The trailer above makes "Off the Bat" look fun, if nothing else. There were a lot of smiles. The guestlist of MLB stars includes Robinson Cano, Clayton Kershaw, Mike Trout, Hunter Pence, Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Gonzalez, Prince Fielder, Wil Myers and more. There will be 30 episodes of "Off the Bat," each 30 minutes long.

The most promising moment in the trailer? That's easy — Giancarlo Stanton shattering car windows with batted balls. Who doesn't want to watch that?
