The Twi-Nighter: A.J. Pierzynski proves nothing in this video

I'm all for stupid sportswriter tricks, but I'm not sure why Sun-Times beat reporter Joe Cowley thought he'd be able to steal one base in 10 tries off catcher A.J. Pierzynski. While it's true that the White Sox catcher threw out only 16 percent of baserunners last year and took a lot of clubhouse guff from the longtime reporter, he's also still a professional athlete — and Cowley is still 39 years old.

By the third time Cowley gets thrown out by 15 feet, my plan to make the bowling tour after about a year of intensive practice doesn't seem like the most misguided thought of all time. The video's a long one, so just watch the first few attempts to get the gist of it.

A big BLS head nod to 100 Percent Injury Rate for the tip.
