Five quick links to start your day ...
1. So Joe Torre apparently has a new blog on MLBlogs.com, but like my boys at WoW, I don't think there's any way he has anything to do with it.
I'd sure like to be proven wrong, though.
From the blog:
I'll be figuring out this blogging thing since I'm a little behind the times. For example, I saw one of those little candy Valentine's hearts printed with "LOL" and thought it was a typo right up until I started reading about blogs and Web acronyms. I mean, WTF(udge), right? Then there are "web smileys" like ;-) and :-( which frankly make me a bit >:-P (I just made that one up). But live and learn.
Until then, I'll just say BFN, because I have to GBTW, but I'll BCNU soon. But JFTR, I don't think I'm going to be using a lot of this Web slang. IMHO, plain old English works just fine. TYVM and TTYL.
There's just NO way that's him, right? [Joe Torre's MLBlog]
2. Now that baseball has adopted instant replay, here are five other ways that baseball can modernize the game. I like the cyborg umpire idea. Wait, there was no idea for cyborg umpires on that list? Better expand it to six, then. [Deuce of Davenport]
3. After seven years, I guess I'm ready to read something about Danny Almonte again. [ESPN]
