A toast to the 2013 Milwaukee Brewers

Mike Oz

Editor's note: We're saying goodbye to teams mathematically eliminated from the 2013 MLB season with a toast. Want to contribute? Follow @BigLeagueStew on Twitter and await our call for submissions. Next up, the Milwaukee Brewers.

You could argue that no team in MLB deserves a toast more than the Milwaukee Brewers — just don't give any to Yovani Gallardo, OK?

In 2013, the Brewers lost their biggest star to a 65-game suspension, had to compete in baseball's toughest division and lost Corey Hart and Mat Gamel for the season, but hey, at least the Brew Crew (62-82) are the slightest bit better than the Cubs these days. Now, let's start this toast.

To the Brewers, for at least giving us breakout seasons from Carlos Gomez and Jean Segura. And to the Brewers, for also giving us 20 years of racing sausages. To the Brewers, for apparently letting some brewers create the throwback unis. To the Brewers for not letting your PED controversy get as ugly as the Yankees. Finally, to the Brewers for letting us live in a world where Yuniesky Betancourt was a clean-up hitter for a while.

We're not going to bogart this toast. Here's what the people had to say to the 2013 Brewers:

ALREADY: Houston Astros, Miami Marlins, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox.

UP NEXT: The San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies and New York Mets were all eliminated on Wednesday. Send your toasts to @BigLeagueStew on Twitter using the #MLBToasts hashtag.
