Some weekday evenings, the Stew looks at a few approaching games that will be worth monitoring and mixes it with some light baseball reading. Discuss the night's happenings in the comments below.
Pirates at Nationals, 7:05 ET Bob Costas has left the building, but that doesn't mean tonight's debut of Brad Lincoln(notes) won't be a big deal to the Pittsburgh Pirates and their fans. The No. 4 pick in the 2006 draft will finally make his first big league start after a frustrating minor league path that included Tommy John surgery in 2007. Here's hoping Bucs fans have just as much reason to be excited as Nats fans were on Tuesday.
• Sampling the Strasburger, which comes with 14 pickles. DCist
• Love the idea of this new "The Teammates" statue at Fenway, hate the execution. They're standing so far apart it looks like they despise each other. Extra Bases
Marlins at Phillies, Ppd. Fearing another perfect game overshadowing of the Stanley Cup Final, God has decided to delay Roy Halladay's(notes) titanic matchup with Josh Johnson(notes). (He also says the next person to make a "Huh, guess it's not always sunny in Philadelphia" crack gets struck with a bolt of lightning.)
Yankees at Orioles, 7:05 In my perfect fantasy baseball world, CC Sabathia(notes) starts against Baltimore in every game. His last three victories have come against the O's and he's 7-0 with a 2.05 ERA in his last seven starts against Baltimore.
• K. Liakos has more on Ozzie Guillen's opinion of his son's draft selection. Walkoff Walk
Cardinals at Dodgers, 10:10 Halladay-Johnson may be a scratch, but Adam Wainwright(notes) v. Clayton Kershaw(notes) is a darn fine replacement as St. Louis looks to avoid another sweep at the hands of Los Angeles.
