A-Rod — from a would-be Hall of a Famer to a disgraced star, his career in photos

In his 19-year career Alex Rodriguez has been all of these things: Baseball's biggest star, the most hated player in the game, the guy with the richest contract, the youngest dude around, the player most likely to end up in the tabloids and, now, the face of baseball's performance-enhancing drug battle.

A-Rod was suspended for 211 on Monday, a result of his ties to the Biogenesis scandal and his own sketchy history with PEDs. It's the longest non-lifetime ban in MLB history. He will appeal the suspension

He's a former No. 1 pick, a three-time MVP, a World Series winner and baseball's active home run leader — but also a guy who was benched in the playoffs, who infamously kissed himself in the mirror and who never did master how to avoid a mishap.

Here we examine the highs and lows of A-Rod's career, from the day he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners to the day Major League Baseball handed him the longest suspension in league history.

Of all this, how do you think baseball will remember A-Rod in 25 years?

Baseball season's in full swing. Don't miss a thing.
