Rays to give away Joe Maddon gnome and bobblehead of David Price’s bulldog this season

The Tampa Bay Rays have released their rather lengthy list of promotional giveaways for the 2103 season. And let's just say the same organization that brought us ZimBear in 2012 has somehow managed to, well, at least equal that effort. In the opinion of some, they may have even surpassed it with the two items you see pictured above.

First, we have a Joe Maddon Gnome, which can be yours if you're one of the first 10,000 fans to show up at Tropicana Field on April 24. So yeah, we like your odds of owning one if you decide to purchase a ticket that evening.

What it lacks in ZimBear creepiness, it certainly makes up for in authenticity. It really is a perfect clone, right on down to Maddon's expression and body language. It's a true collector's item if I've ever seen one. What do you think, Joe?

Not a chance. Though it may chase a few unwanted critters away from gardens and lawns in the Tampa/St. Pete area.

The other cool item, which will be given away three days earlier on April 21, is a bobblehead of David Price's bulldog, Astro. That item will be to kids 14 and under, and only while supplies last.

So let's see, Astros now has a bobblehead like his owner. He received the keys to the city of Tampa along with Price back in October. He's arguably more popular with baseball fans (sorry, David). Aside from his own Cy Young award, what more could a bulldog possibly ask for in life?
