Yasiel Puig is currently third in National League All-Star voting, so he'd be a starter if the most recent vote update were the final one. But with ballots still being cast online until Thursday at 11:59 p.m. ET, there's been a final push by the Los Angeles Dodgers to make sure their dynamic outfielder doesn't get leap-frogged.
Giancarlo Stanton, every bit a worthy All-Star starter too, was 320,000 votes behind Puig when figures were announced Tuesday. Andrew McCutchen and Carlos Gomez are first and second, respectively. The Dodgers, naturally, turned to a few celebrities (and one famous sports franchise) to Puig the Vote.
It's a strange hodge-podge — Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Angela from "The Office," Team USA soccer player Nick Rimando and the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers. Kinda seems like those names were drawn out of a hat, huh?

The Lakers make sense. Rimando makes sense — he's the one who gave Puig a Team USA jersey. Puig says the Chili Peppers are a good band and Flea is a good friend (imagine that!) But they're no Puig Destroyer.
Maybe it's just us here at The Stew, but it seems like Angela from "The Office" would be far too uptight to enjoy the baseball theater of Puig.
