Phillies’ Chase Utley answers letter from Mac on ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’

It took him a number of years, but good on Chase Utley of the Philadelphia Phillies to finally answer fan mail from Mac on "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia."

Utley is Mac's favorite player, so much that Mac — who's in his 30s — wrote him a love letter that included stickers, conveyed a wish to play catch, let Utley know how cool his hair was, and that he didn't have a good relationship with his own father.

As Utley said, he's been busy playing baseball for the Phillies for the past few years, so it took him a while to respond. But respond he does, complete with a note that also has stickers, and the suggestion for Mac to "be a better son."

Utley's skit works as well as any "It's Always Sunny" scene because Utley commits and lets out his inner thespian. It's really believable when Utley says that his "fourth favorite thing" is his hair — after baseball, running fast and his dad.

The only alarming thing about fictional Mac and real Utley being pen pals is, there are actual Phillies fans who relate to Utley in the borderline unhealthy way Mac does. Let's just say it's surprising that we haven't heard of any restraining orders lo these many years. After all, this is the guy who demanded to watch his sister kiss Utley.

Let's talk baseball.
