Mike Trout tripled in Derek Jeter during All-Star game, just as MLB Network host predicted

When Mike Trout tripled home Derek Jeter in the first inning of the MLB All-Star game Tuesday night at Target Field, MLB Network host Greg Amsinger likely turned to someone near him and said, "See! Just like I said he would."

OK, so we don't know for sure that's how Amsinger reacted to Trout's triple, but we do know for sure what Amsinger said to Trout before the game. It was broadcast during MLB Network's Red Carpet Show and it makes Amsinger look like a genius. He told Trout:

"That's gonna be awesome, man, when you drive in Derek Jeter in his final All-Star game. That's gonna be so cool. He's gonna be at second base. You're gonna hit a rope down the line. You'll end up at third. He'll tip his cap to you."

A laughing Trout replied, "Yeah, that's gonna be special."

Little did he know, Greg Amsinger is some sort of wizard prognosticator or, as our pal Jeff Passan suggests, the owner of Grays Sports Almanac.

Greg Amsinger, all of us who made outlandish-in-hindsight All-Star predictions bow to you, sir.
