Mike Trout gives game worn batting gloves to young Angels fan

We could spend hours upon hours writing down reasons why at age 22, Mike Trout is already among the best players and biggest superstars in Major League Baseball.

OK, you got us, that's exactly what we have been doing for the better part of two years anyway. But guess what. You're going to have to sit through another pat on Trout's back. Only this time, it has nothing to do with his other-worldly talent on the field, but rather his kindness and professionalism when dealing with young fans.

During the Angels split squad battle against the Chicago Cubs on Friday afternoon, Trout spotted a young Angels fan sporting a Trout jersey. Without hesitation, Trout called the fan over to their dugout and handed him his game worn batting gloves.

I think the reaction of the woman sitting one row behind the young fan says it all. Yes, that was really Mike Trout. And yes, he really gave him the batting gloves he was wearing in the batter's box just moments earlier. Because that's how Mike Trout rolls.

It was so easy, too. With a few simple words and one gesture, Trout gave a young fan a memory to last a lifetime and a souvenir he can pass down for generations to come. Who knows, maybe he'll even inspire the kid to pursue baseball and strive to join Trout in MLB someday.

It's possible. Maybe not likely, but sometimes all it takes is one little acknowledgement or one random act of kindness to plant a positive seed.

Good on Mike Trout, and congratulations to the young fan who's baseball hero gave him a story we'd all be jealous of if we were his age again.
