Saturday is a milestone day in Philadelphia sports as the NBA's 76ers are set to retire the No. 3 uniform worn by Allen Iverson.
As a nod to that honor, outfielder Marlon Byrd, who returned to the Phillies this offseason after nine seasons away, rocked an AI jersey during batting practice prior to their meeting against Masahiro Tanaka and the New York Yankees.

Let's all get it out of our systems together. Repeat after me.
Now, what we're really talking about is a pretty cool gesture from a player who shared the city with Iverson from 2002-2005. Those were pretty much Iverson's prime years in the NBA, so Byrd's memories of 'The Answer' would definitely include some of the greatest scoring performances in league history.
It's also worth pointing out that Iverson has shown his support for the Phillies in the past by rocking their retro uniform.
Never has the "City of Brotherly Love" mantra been more fitting.
