Kansas City Royals have the coolest billboard in baseball

The Kansas City Royals are a team that's getting used to winning again. They finished above .500 last season for the first time in 10 years, and are hoping to build on that in 2014. They've already won one thing this year — the best billboard in baseball.

Marvel at it. It's quite inventive. That's outfielder Alex Gordon sliding into a base and seemingly taking the billboard background with him. As far as advertisements go, it's memorable.

There's a good chance you're going to think the billboard is messed up at first glance, like an error on a baseball card. But then you'll realize what's actually going on. Then you'll keep thinking about it. Then you'll want to show it to your friends. Then the Royals have got their message into your brain.

This builds off last season's billboards, which were also quite cool and employed a similar trick:

Well played, Royals.
