Joe Maddon reenacts Allen Iverson's famous 'Practice' rant (Video)

Joe Maddon, the amusing manager of the Tampa Bay Rays, cocked his hat to the side and channeled Allen Iverson the best he could. The two don't have a heck of a lot in common — Iverson being a basketball player with a killer crossover and Maddon being a baseball skipper who loves to call shifts.

Still, Maddon is known for having fun, and this week, that meant paying tribute to Iverson. The Rays recorded Maddon doing his own remix of Iverson's classic "Practice" rant from 2002, and if nothing else, you've got to applaud the effort.

Iverson had his No. 3 jersey retired by the Philadelphia 76ers over the weekend. He was already honored once in baseball, when Marlon Byrd of the Philadelphia Phillies wore a No. 3 jersey during batting practice.

The Rays seem to be having fun this spring turning Maddon into an actor. A couple weeks ago they put out a video of him doing Mike Gundy's "I'm a man and I'm 40" rant.

The Rays say more videos like this are coming, so we're hoping that the next one sees Maddon doing a Jim Mora "Playoffs?" rant or Dennis Green's "We are what we thought they are."

In the immortal words of Bart Scott, "can't wait."
