Felix Hernandez’s house catches fire, no injuries reported

Big League Stew

The home of Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez caught fire Monday afternoon. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, as the Bellevue Fire Department responded to the blaze and got it under control.

Per KIRO in Seattle:

The fire that started shortly after 3 p.m. on Northeast 1st Street brought crews from Bellevue, Redmond, and Mercer Island. About 4 p.m., Bellevue firefighters were working on salvage and overhaul.

It's still unclear what started the fire. But it sounds Hernandez and his family weren't home.

KIRO has a gallery of pics from the fire, none of which are too graphic, while Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times points us to previous pics of the house.
