Carlos Gomez dyes his goatee pink in honor of Mother's Day

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez marches to the beat of his own drum. There's never been any question about that. But his stunning new look unveiled prior to their Mother's Day game against the New York Yankees certainly takes that phrase to a new level.

In honor of the special day, Gomez elected to dye his goatee pink. And he was even kind enough to post photos on Instagram documenting the process.

As is always the case with the Gomez, the new look has been greeted with mixed reviews so far.

Sure, it's another opportunity to draw attention to himself. As we know, it's a rare occasion when Gomez passes that up. But with that being said, if there's ever a day to do it, this is certainly it.

After all, Mother's Day around MLB is all about featuring pink to bring awareness to breast cancer. We see it on the bats, batting gloves, and even now on the baseballs. So what does a pink goatee hurt? As long as there's a good message behind it, any attention is good attention for the greater cause.
