What's that rule? A man should spend the equivalent of three months' salary on an engagement ring? Well, if Los Angeles Dodgers outfield Carl Crawford had done that, his bride-to-be might not be able to lift her hand.
Crawford, who made $20 million last season, proposed to reality TV star Evelyn Lozada at Christmas, giving her a sizable present — a $1.4 million ring that measures at 14.5 carats. That's not three months salary, but holy moly.
Lozada, for those who don't know her, was once married to NFL bad boy Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson (for two and a half months) and once engaged to NBA star Antoine Walker. Maybe she's just needed a baseball player all along? Lozada was also on the "Basketball Wives" reality show and co-wrote a novel about being married to a football star.
Here's Lozada showing off her rock on Instagram, which puts the Instagram of your Christmas presents to shame:
Crawford and Lozada are also expecting a child together this spring.
Does this mean we'll see a reboot of that horrible "Baseball Wives" reality show?
