The last 48 hours have not been kind to the St. Louis Cardinals, and apparently those issues now extend beyond the baseball diamond. According to multiple reports out of St. Louis, the team's charter flight to Boston for Game 6 of the World Series has been delayed due to mechanical issues.

After winning Game 3 in dramatic and historic fashion, there was probably some hope they wouldn't have to make another flight to Boston. Now they're spending their off-day on a tarmac knowing they'll need to win two games in Boston to accomplish their goal.
That doesn't sound all that fun, and it's certainly not a convenience, but you can bet the afternoon spent together on an airplane will be a narrative if the Cardinals can pull it off.
In the meantime, Twitter has paper airplane jokes.
The Cardinals would have been better off using the paper airplane from last night's game. It went farther than the one they're on now.

Where's the paper airplane guy when you need him? RT: @Haudricourt Bad omen for Cardinals. Stuck in St. Louis with plane problems.

Obstruction jokes are in, too.

Unfortunately for St. Louis, their offense isn't immune, either.
