What the heck does that headline mean? Sit tight.
Sergio Garcia played very well on Friday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Eagle-on-16 well. Now, we've been down this road before, so we're not ready to proclaim Garcia "back" yet or any of that nonsense. But you'll note an interesting sign in this quote:
"Obviously we are not 100 percent," he said after the round, "but you know, we are slowly getting there. So it feels good to be able to shoot these kind of rounds."
Check that! The Royal "We"! That's a good sign for the whole confidence thing. Garcia finished the round in -4, one of the better rounds of the day, and now sits at -3 overall, five strokes back of clubhouse leaders Spencer Levin, KJ Choi and Martin Laird.
Oh, and that ice cream thing? He was asked if he likes watching himself on video to improve his swing. "For me it can [help]," he said, "I don't know for other people. Everybody is different. Some people like ice cream without sauce and others like it with sauce."
Barbecue for me, please. Or maybe cocktail sauce. Anyway, Garcia's safely into the weekend and he's got a good chance to throw up a fine finish.
