Phil Mickelson's been playing some solid golf early in the second round of the PGA Championship. But he's been a bit wild off the tee, and at least one fan has gotten an up-close introduction to Lefty.
On his drive at 15, Mickelson sent the ball long but left -- way, way left. The ball sailed into the gallery and tagged a guy carrying his folding chair to another spot on the course. (A guy who, it must be noted, wasn't paying attention. Heads up on the golf course, folks!) Behold the video:
Anyway, when Mickelson finally reached the fan -- who apparently was not harmed beyond getting a dimpled bruise -- Phil was generous, offering up a signed glove as a token of his apology:
Nice move. What makes it for me is the sad face in the "O."
Oh, and can't-get-out-of-the-way-of-the-tee-shot guy, acceptance of this glove constitutes a covenant not to sue. So don't go getting any sudden neck pains, OK? Phil hasn't had a burger in weeks, and that makes a man mean.
