Michelle Wie gets back in the saddle for the Kraft Nabisco

Michelle Wie tees off at the Kraft Nabisco Championship at 3:16 Eastern on Thursday afternoon, her first holes since The Events Of March 28. And this will be a key tournament in the career of Wie.

She hasn't played many tournaments this year — no LPGA player has, sadly — but she's carded finishes of T22, T15 and T6.

Golf is a mental game, and Wie has had trouble staying focused in the past. Indeed, it was that very lack of focus that led to her grounding her club on Sunday following a shot that didn't leave the hazard. She's got the talent to win big on the Tour — you don't get to where she is without having world-class skills — but she's got to lock in for every hole of every round.

One good sign: she said absolutely nothing about the controversy on her Twitter feed. In the past, she might have taken to her fans for support, but if she's trying to put this whole thing behind her and focus on the Kraft Nabisco, that's exactly the right approach. A win here, and everything beforehand becomes a footnote.
