D.A. Points made a pretty clutch putt to win the Shell Houston Open
We've been accustomed to guys like Tiger Woods rolling in putts at the U.S. Open or Phil Mickelson sliding in putts at Augusta National for the win but it doesn't always happen at regular PGA Tour events.
That wasn't the case late Sunday night at the Shell Houston Open. After a weather delay, golf continued and D.A. Points was trying to put the exclamation mark on a final round 66 that would propel him to victory.
The 18th at Redstone is no cake walk, but Points missed his second shot in the right area and pitched it to 15 feet for par and the win.
The rest was all Points. The putt, the celebration, the win and the smile all belonged to a guy that seemed to hang around all week and snag the victory at the end.
