Back injury forces Dustin Johnson to withdraw from Masters
Dustin Johnson won't be teeing it up at the Masters, and he has a jet ski to thank for forcing him to withdraw from the tournament on Tuesday.
Johnson, who hadn't played a tournament since the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral, was expected to be in the field for the first major of the year until he tweaked his back while attempting to lift a jet ski, according to the Associated Press' Doug Ferguson.
Johnson took to Twitter following the news to apologize to his fans and sponsors for missing the Masters.
First I have to apologize to the fans and sponsors. With heartfelt regret, I won't be playing in the Masters due to a tweaked back. #imsorry

This is the second time a back injury has forced Johnson to withdraw from a tournament this year; he had to pull out of the Humana Challenge back in January. While the news is a big blow for one of the top players in the game, you have to wonder what the heck he was doing lifting a jet ski with a questionable back right before one of the biggest events on the schedule.
