Shuffle Up and Deal: Mike Tolbert Fan Club

You should know the rules and lifelines by now. If we had a fresh Fantasy Football draft going off tonight, what would our cheatsheet look like? These are not weekly ranks, they are seasonal ranks, with the condition that the season begins in Week 12.

Bring your respectful disagreement to the comments, but please back up your stances with a strong line of reasoning. Further the conversation, gamer.

Comments: It's ridiculous what Rivers is doing this year, throwing to lawn chairs and willing the Chargers into playoff contention. He might not win the MVP, but he's the most impressive player this season by a mile. … Orton might have to worry about a Tim Tebow(notes) start late in the year, but Josh McDaniels won't discuss it while the Broncos are still technically in playoff contention. … There's nothing special about Hill, but you feel confident that he'll chuck it 40-50 times every game, and there's a lot to be said for that kind of floor. … There's probably one classic Favre game coming over the final six weeks, but no one knows when. Maybe he'll have two for us, now that Rice is back.

Comments: Hillis has scores in nine of his ten starts and his touch count is safe every week. He's the waiver-wire grab of the season. … Moreno's getting more involved in Denver's screen game, which is important because he's nothing special between the tackles. … I always feel like I'm ranking Charles a little too high, but sooner or later those long plays that end inside the 5-yard line will push to the end zone. At least that's my hope. … Tolbert doesn't have any lateral moves whatsoever but he pushes the pile, breaks tackles, and has soft hands. He's a nice fit for this offense. … There's no obvious answer on Bradshaw; the demotion could last 30 minutes or 30 days. I'd be stunned if Jacobs ran away and hid with the starting gig.

Comments: Jennings has stepped up his game since Jermichael Finley(notes) got hurt, and Rodgers is a perfect teammate for him, a mobile quarterback with a deep arm. … Wallace still isn't a polished receiver, but he's got wonderful chemistry with Roethlisberger and he keeps running by people, so let's not sweat it. … It's a shame Thomas isn't a little taller, but he's Jacksonville's most reliable target, even when MSW is healthy. … I'm assuming Vincent Jackson is ready to go right out of the box, in part because of how badly the Chargers need help at the position.

Comments: Look, I'm no foot doctor. If Gates is right, he's obviously the best tight end in the game, bar none. He's not healthy yet, though, and for the meantime, you need a Gates caddy. … It's a shame the Jags don't throw to Lewis more because he's a matchup nightmare. … Keller's come down after a hot start, and he's obviously hurt by the emergence of Holmes.

At this time of year, there's no reason to have seasonal kicker and defense ranks. Those are week-to-week matchup-driven positions, and in some groups it will make sense to use a different guy every week.

Have a safe holiday weekend, amigos.
