T.N.T, Floyd's dynamite. T.N.T, he'll win the fight. T.N.T, he's a power load. T.N.T, watch him explode...
Nicknamed the "M-80" by his teammates, San Diego's Malcom Floyd has shown occasional explosiveness this season.
Blessed with the softest hands on the Chargers roster, Floyd has emerged from the deep recesses of the wavier wire to produce a handful of respectable fantasy tallies. His combination of blazing speed and athleticism has vaulted him from practice squad phenom to stream-worthy fantasy WR3. Sagacious quarterback Philip Rivers always knew the long-legged wideout would someday become one of his most trustworthy weapons:
"Malcolm, there's no newness in throwing to Malcom. For five years we've been throwing every day at Chargers Park. So there's a certainly a great comfort level there."
Five weeks ago, the Bolts' long-bomb tandem was certainly on the same page versus Kansas City. In that contest, Floyd's lanky 6-foot-5 frame proved problematic for an undersized Chiefs secondary. Rivers connected with his high-flying teammate four times for 76 yards and a touchdown, including an acrobatic 31-yard catch over rookie corner Maurice Leggett.
Chris Chambers and Antonio Gates have vanished of late and with Vincent Jackson expected to draw extra coverage over-the-top Floyd could attract several appealing one-on-one situations. Also, keep in mind KC has yielded five touchdowns and five 75-yard receivers since Week 10.
For deep-thinking owners trying to find a waivers spark, light the wick of the 10 percent-owned (two percent-started) M-80.
