There are some other names, too.
If you click on "Players" then "Waivers Only," you'll find a few interesting guys who are new to the Yahoo! player universe. We discussed their arrival last week, and various Yahoo! experts have already written about them. (Here's one piece. Here's another. And another).
The guy who could be worth your waiver priority -- depending on your specific league, and whether someone just dropped Evan Longoria -- is 22-year-old Reds' right-hander Johnny Cueto. He had 19 Ks in 17.2 innings this spring, but also walked 12 and finished with a 5.09 ERA.
Also, I'll direct you to a quote from an excellent NY Times Q&A with Bill James:
When you’re depending on young pitching, you’re vulnerable. Some of these guys are going to be very good, but probably not all of them, and there are going to be bumps in the road that will rattle your teeth.
That clearly applies to fantasy, as well. We add guys like Cueto because of their performance ceilings, not because of what they're most likely to do in their age 22 seasons.
Still, we do add them. You don't win competitive leagues without owning a few players who substantially exceed their projections.
