The second opinion of Stephen Curry's ankle returned a recommendation of two more weeks of rest and rehabilitation, after which he'll be re-evaluated. This officially ends his season for default h2h purposes, so act accordingly. If Curry is declared "100 percent healthy" in two weeks and does happen to return, he's looking at the possibility of participating in eight or nine games before the end of the NBA regular season .. Elsewhere for the Warriors, Nate Robinson (hamstring) is headed for another game-time decision on Wednesday.
• The second opinion of Amar'e Stoudemire's back confirmed that he won't need surgery on his bulging disc, and he's expected to miss two to four weeks while he rehabilitates. This ends his season in default h2h leagues, and it's doubtful that he affects fantasy fortunes otherwise - the longer Amar'e is held out, the more likely it is that he won't suffer any setbacks when he does return. A best-case here seems to be a few games at the end of the regular season to help prepare him for a possible first-round playoff series .. Other Knicks updates for Wednesday: Carmelo Anthony (groin) will play, Jeremy Lin (knee) is out, and J.R. Smith (illness) is questionable.
• Eric Gordon could be back on the court within a matter of days. He was scheduled to go through a full-contact practice Tuesday, after which his status for Wednesday would be handled on a "you never know" basis, according to Monty Williams. Even if he doesn't return during the Hornets' current back-to-back (Wed @GSW, Thu @POR), it does appear that his return is now imminent. Another reminder for h2h purposes: the Hornets only play three games next week, so make sure to give a possible add/drop the proper deliberation. In my one h2h league where Gordon happened to be available, I dropped Nikola Pekovic to add him, given Pek's own injury concerns and the fact that the T-Wolves also play only three games next week .. Other Hornets updates for Wednesday: Trevor Ariza (ankle) is out, Chris Kaman (illness) is questionable, Gustavo Ayon (birth of child) is out.
• Status updates: LeBron James (finger) is not expected to miss any time .. Derrick Rose is out Wednesday but his workouts now include running on the court and more shooting and moving, although he's yet to take contact in a full practice .. Marc Gasol (ankle) is hoping to return on Friday .. Andre Iguodala missed his second straight game Tuesday because of left knee tendinitis, which first started bothering him two weeks ago. He's questionable for Friday at this point .. Ray Allen (ankle) is a game-time decision on Wednesday .. Scott Skiles isn't sure as of yet if Ersan Ilyasova (back) or Carlos Delfino (groin) will be able to return on Friday .. Neither Nene Hilario (back) nor Trevor Booker (plantar fasciitis) practiced Wednesday, and both are questionable for Thursday .. Jameer Nelson (illness) missed Wednesday shootaround but expects to play .. Jason Thompson (ankle) will be a game-time decision Wednesday .. Raymond Felton (personal) will be away from the Trail Blazers for as much time as he needs. His status for the Thursday/Friday back-to-back is currently undetermined .. DeMar DeRozan (ankle) is expected to play Wednesday .. Richard Hamilton (shoulder) will be a game-time decision on Wednesday .. D.J. Augustin (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday shootaround and looks like a go .. Ben Gordon (groin) is out Wednesday.
• Scanning the Buzz Index leaders: Brandon Rush played another 33 minutes on Tuesday and pushed his averages over 10 games to 30 minutes, 11.6 points on 50-percent shooting, 1.8 threes, 4.9 boards, and 1.5 blocks. Rush's minutes should remain consistent, given Dorell Wright's inconsistencies and the team's typical small lineups .. Matt Barnes' averages in seven games since Ramon Sessions joined the team: 26 minutes, 11.6 points, 53% FG, 1.9 threes, 6.1 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.3 blocks. Add him Wednesday and you'll get three more games during the current week (Thu OKC, Sat NOR, Sun GSW) .. Adding Carl Landry today will also get you three more games in the current week (Thu @POR, Sat @LAL, Sun @PHO). Just be aware that his playing time will get squeezed a bit once Chris Kaman, Jason Smith, and Gustavo Ayon are all healthy and active at the same time .. It bears monitoring, given that Shannon Brown scored 32 points and hit five threes in his start on Tuesday, but there are no indications as of yet that Grant Hill's knee soreness will keep him out long-term, and the Suns have three days off following Wednesday's matchup with the Clippers [schedule] .. Both Nene and Trevor Booker remain gimpy, and Kevin Seraphin has averaged 12.2 points on 56-percent shooting, 8.8 boards, and 2 blocks over his past five starts. Add him Wednesday and you get three more games in the current week (Thu @IND, Fri PHI, Sun @TOR) .. Rodrigue Beaubois has been plugging along nicely for fantasy owners, averaging 12.3 points on 48-percent shooting, 4 boards, 3.9 assists, and 1.4 steals over his past nine games. Just keep in mind that Delonte West could return to the Mavs' active roster early next week and would likely influence his minutes.
