Blake Griffin off to less-than-ideal start to NBA season
Wednesday marks the first full slate of the NBA season, promising a bevy of highlight opportunities for thirsty basketball fans.

Jarrett Allen makes early statement
The Detroit Pistons forward wound up for what looked like an inevitable Griffin poster at the expense of second-year Brooklyn Nets center Jarrett Allen.
But Allen had other ideas.
Allen emphatically denied Griffin at the rim as if to scream that he is, in fact, not a rookie anymore.
The athletic but raw 20-year-old showed flashes of being a force in the paint on both sides of the ball in limited run his rookie year and could be in line for a breakout season.
That’s a nice way to make an early statement.
