Blackhawks to pick No. 11 overall in 2021 NHL Draft originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The ping-pong balls have spoken and the Blackhawks will officially hold the No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, as expected. The results were revealed during Wednesday's draft lottery show on NBCSN.

The Buffalo Sabres landed the No. 1 overall pick and the NHL's newest franchise Seattle Kraken secured the No. 2 overall selection. The Anaheim Ducks will pick No. 3 overall.

It's the fourth time in franchise history the Blackhawks will pick 11th overall in the entry draft after they took defenseman Dave Manson in 1985, forward Pavel Vorobiev in 2000 and center Kyle Beach in 2008.

The Blackhawks currently have eight draft picks in 2021: One first-rounder, two second-rounders, two fourth-rounders, one sixth-rounder and two seventh-rounders.

The NHL Draft will take place on July 23 and 24.
