Blackhawks longtime executive Norm Maciver has left the organization and was named the director of player personnel for the Seattle Kraken. The news was made official on Tuesday afternoon.
Maciver spent the 13 seasons in Chicago, where he served as the assistant general manager for eight years, the director of player development for three, and director of player personnel for one. He recently had his title changed from assistant GM to vice president of player personnel in a front-office restructuring.
Maciver was part of all three Stanley Cup runs, and served as the assistant GM for the 2013 and 2015 titles.
"Norm played an integral role in the construction of three championship teams and was an invaluable asset over the past 14 years in our Hockey Ops department," Blackhawks president and GM Stan Bowman said in a statement. "On behalf of the organization, we wish Norm the best of luck with Seattle.”
