Billye Aaron, the 84-year-old widow of Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, tested negative on Friday for COVID-19, a person close to the Aaron family told SNY.

That result came from a rapid test, the person said. Ms. Aaron will be tested again on Monday, as a precaution.

Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge had close contact with Ms. Aaron before testing positive for the virus. Before Tuesday’s All-Star Game in Denver, Judge stood next to Ms. Aaron for several minutes during a tribute to her husband, who died in January at age 86. At one point, he patted her on the shoulder.

Two days later, Judge was among the players whose positive test led to the postponement of the Yankees/Red Sox game.

The Yankees placed Judge on the COVID-19 injured list Friday.
