Bills snap counts: Depth chart breakdown at Patriots
Here’s how the Buffalo Bills (4-3) depth chart broke down via snap counts in their 29-25 loss vs. the New England Patriots in Week 7:
Offense
TE Dawson Knox played in 63 percent of snaps despite now needing wrist surgery.
OL Spencer Brown was the only player on the O-line to miss snaps–he has been dealing with a knee issue.
QB Josh Allen did not miss playing time due to his shoulder injury he is playing with.
At RB, James Cook and Latavius Murray saw an even split is snaps despite Cook’s 13 carries (56 yards) and Murray’s four carries (8 yards).
For the fourth-straight game, WR Khalil Shakir played more than WR Deonte Harty–Last week he played 14 more and only five more vs. the Pats.
WR Gabe Davis played in 96 percent of snaps and recorded one catch for six yards.
Defense
DL Von Miller played in only six snaps after seeing 27 last week vs. the Patriots.
At DT without Ed Oliver (toe) and DaQuan Jones (pectoral), Tim Settle (36 snaps) and Jordan Phillips (34 snaps) led the interior D-line.
Tyrel Dodson replaced rookie third-round pick Dorian Williams at LB.
DE AJ Epenesa led edge defenders in snaps played for the first time in 2023, although the rotationw as heavy.
CB Kaiir Elam was inactive but the former first-round pick did not see playing time.
Special teams
LB Baylon Spector dropped 67 to 58 percent of snaps after sustaining a hamstring injury.
After Dodson replaced Williams on defense, Williams took Dodson’s special teams snaps (29%).
CB Siran Neal, LB Tyler Matakevich, CB Cam Lewis played in Tier 1 (79%) of special teams snaps vs. Patriots–FB Reggie Gilliams dropped to 75 percent as the Bills only punted once.
