The Bills are 5-2 headed into a matchup this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bills fans may suspect the contest might act as simply a warm-up game before squaring off against the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But as another Florida-based opponent proved just last week, if a team plays hard on game day, it can make things challenging.

One of the Buffalo Bills defensive leaders, Micah Hyde knows this to be the case. The safety is one half of a duo that is among the top in the league in interceptions (11) and total takeaways (18).

This requires a close examination of opposing quarterbacks in preparation to line up against them. And in his evaluations of his opposing QB this Sunday, the safety was impressed.

“Solid. Solid, young quarterback who can get it done with his arm and his legs,” Hyde said this week while addressing the media. “His arm is what everyone has been talking about, he can make every throw on the field. You see him back in his Clemson days doing the same thing, so you know mechanically what type of quarterback he is. He’s probably one of the best, mechanically, quarterbacks I’ve seen. Especially at his age, it’s impressive to see.”

Hyde isn’t the only one to take notice of the rookie QB’s skillset. Bills head coach Sean McDermott also took time this week to remark on Lawrence’s NFL trajectory.

“He’s gonna have a long, successful career in this league, I’m sure, and we have a lot of respect for him.”
