Bills GM downplays DeAndre Hopkins rumors

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is on the trading block. One team that reportedly is headlining the trade market is the Buffalo Bills.

However, the Bills are downplaying that talk.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane called the talk of them going after Hopkins and others as just social media discussion.

“He’s on the Arizona Cardinals,” he told Matt Parino of Syracuse.com in Phoenix. “What I would say is social media is social media. Don’t take that too far.”

He added, “Our name gets thrown into a lot of things, sometimes we’ve done 1% (of what’s been reported).”

Beane couldn’t really say anything about Hopkins, He is under contract with the Cardinals, so commenting on him would be considered tampering, even though the Cardinals have permitted teams to reach out to Hopkins and his agent.

Yes, Beane downplayed it but it doesn’t mean that they don’t have interest. He just can’t tell anyone publicly that they want him.
