Bills explain benefits of short week Thursday Night Football provides

Short weeks are known for causing difficulties for NFL teams. Most of that surrounds a lack of rest for players.

The Bills (4-3) and Buccaneers (3-3) will both have to deal with that this week before the two clash in Orchard Park on Thursday Night Football.

But there could be benefits to the schedule, according to some in the Bills locker room.

The shorter time frame helps keep the focus better for some.

“You get to hone in on the little things. You not trying to make too much of a complicated game plan,” receiver Stefon Diggs said. “We plan fast and we’re not thinking as much.”

And of course, coming off a loss like both teams are this week, it’s a chance to get back in the win column sooner.

“It is, honestly, a great thing. As a competitor, you hate losing,” offensive lineman Dion Dawkins said. “I’m thankful that we have a short week.”
