Big offensive explosion helps Colorado blow past Washington

Coming into Sunday’s game against Washington, the No. 6 Colorado women’s basketball team was in the midst of a rough stretch offensively, but those struggles were soon overcome in an 80-57 rout of the Huskies.

The Buffaloes shot 58.3% from the field, including 41.7% from deep, and scored 50 points in the first half. Colorado’s frontcourt superstars led the way as Aaronette Vonleh scored 21 on 10-of-13 shooting while Quay Miller put together yet another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Maddie Nolan also hit all three of her 3-point attempts in an 11-point performance.

Washington’s offense was held in check for most of the game with only two of its players able to crack the double-digit scoring mark: Dalayah Daniels finished with 14 and Sayvia Sellers poured in 12 off the bench. Thanks to the Buffs’ stifling defense, Washington shot only 31.8% from the field on the day.

Now 19-3 overall (9-2 Pac-12), the Buffs will welcome Oregon to the CU Events Center on Friday evening.
