NBA betting: Bettor puts nearly $70K on Clippers to beat the Mavericks by 3 or more in Game 6

At least one bettor is extremely confident in the Los Angeles Clippers' chances of forcing a Game 7 in their first-round series with the Dallas Mavericks.

A bettor at BetMGM has placed a $69,300 wager on the Clippers -2.5 vs. the host Mavericks on Friday night. If the Clippers win by three or more points, that bettor will net $63,000. If the Clippers win by one or two or the Mavericks win, well, the book will be happy to keep that bettor's money.

The Mavericks lead the series 3-2 and can eliminate the Clippers with a win at home. The road team has won each of the first five games in the series. Los Angeles won both Games 3 and 4 in Dallas after the Mavericks took the first two games.

That bettor isn’t alone in favoring the Clippers against the spread. Fifty-eight percent of bettors are taking the Clippers minus the points, and thanks largely in part to that massive bet, a whopping 82% of the money wagered against the spread is on Los Angeles to cover. The line has moved from -2 to -3 in favor of the Clippers as a result.

If you’re one of the people who likes the Clippers, you should probably jump on the first-half line. The Clips are getting 6.5 points over the first 24 minutes. While it’s possible Dallas will get out to a hot start buoyed by a full home crowd, Los Angeles’ urgency could also quickly quiet what’s set to be a rowdy group at American Airlines Center.

Moneyline bettors are favoring the Mavericks, likely because of the better odds and the low point spread. 77% of the tickets on the moneyline are on Dallas while 75% of the moneyline handle is on the Mavs.

Bettors are on the over, though the big-money bets like the under. Seventy percent of the tickets on the points total (216.5) are for the over, but a little less than half the money wagered (46%) is on the under.

The most-bet player prop for Game 6 is unsurprisingly on Luka Doncic. Bettors like his chances of getting a triple-double (+350). If you're not convinced Doncic will get a triple-double, you can get lower odds (-140) on a double-double. Doncic is also at +500 to score 40 or more points.
