KEVIN IOLE: Hey, everybody. This is Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports. UFC 283 just got over. What an eventful night it was in Rio de Janeiro. Brandon Moreno and Jamahal Hill come out as the new champions. Great performances by both of them.

In the main event, Jamahal Hill wins by unanimous decision over Glover Teixeira, sweeping all five rounds winning 50 to 44 on all cards. Hill went off as a minus 130 favorite. Teixeira was a minus a buck 05.

But I'll tell you what, there was never any doubt about this one. From the opening moments of the fight, Hill was so sharp with his punch. As he was landing his jab, he was dropping in big right-hand uppercuts. He just dominated this fight from start to finish. It was one of the best performances of his career. And in the process, he became the first fighter to come off of Dana White's Contender Series and win a UFC championship.

And the co-main event it was Brandon Moreno winning the rivalry series with Deiveson Figueiredo. That ended up 2-2-1 in favor of Moreno. Moreno gets a stoppage at the end of the third round. He landed a left hook in the latter stages of the third round that closed out Figueiredo's eye.

The doctor came into the ring to look at it. Could not let the fight go on. He couldn't open his eye, couldn't see to defend himself. Already Moreno was up 3 rounds to 0 on the cards. So the championship went to Brandon Moreno.

And an interesting fight also on the main card. Gilbert Burns ends up with an arm triangle choke and defeats Neil Magny. He was a -500 favorite. He looked every bit of that. Dominated Magny and submits him with the arm triangle.

Big night of fights in Rio de Janeiro. Congratulations to Jamahal Hill and Brandon Moreno. Great performance by both of them. And a special shout out to Glover Teixeira, who retired after this fight and showed incredible toughness in hanging in there. He took some shots, and even Jamahal Hill couldn't believe it. So for Yahoo Sports, I am Kevin Iole.
